Why is my Shopify store not ranking on Google?

Most Shopify stores that do not rank are not losing on content. They are losing on the catalog: collection pages with no reason to exist, product pages that duplicate each other, and variant and canonical noise that buries the pages you actually want indexed. Check what is indexed before you write anything.

Look at the index, not the blog

On one client account the live snapshot was 85 URLs indexed and 147 not indexed. Most of the not indexed list was benign Shopify canonical and variant noise, which is normal, but you cannot tell the benign part from the real loss without opening the reasons breakdown. That is the first thing to look at, not the content calendar.

Collection pages are where stores lose

A collection page that exists only because the theme generated it has nothing to rank for. Collection pages that map to how people actually search, by cut, by breed, by use, by size, are the pages that can win.

Then check whether the catalog is even listed

Separately from organic, confirm your highest value products are published to Google's free listings. On that same account the top three products, 31.5 percent of attributed revenue, had never been submitted.
