Is Klaviyo worth it for a Shopify store?
Yes, if the flows actually send. Email should produce 27 to 40 percent of revenue for a direct to consumer store. The common failure is not a bad platform, it is a flow that reports itself as live while sending almost nothing.
Verify before you judge it
On one client account a 13 email weekly sequence had sent 7 emails in 90 days against a 488 person list. Klaviyo showed it as live for three weeks. The platform's own screen eventually said it plainly: received no emails, 438 of 488.
The cause is a trigger that only fires forward
The flow was triggered on Added to List. That trigger only fires for people added after the flow goes live. The list was populated first, so not one of the 488 ever entered. If you built a flow after populating its list, check this today.
The one minute check
Compare sends against list size. A 13 email sequence to 488 people should produce thousands of sends a quarter, not seven. If that ratio is wrong the flow is not running, whatever the status says.
